GoHFGL has an IRC chat, who is configured from Settings option in File menu, or click on icon from toolbar.

IRC Connection Settings

To connect to a IRC server, you must select a network from first dropdown menu. Then, second dropdown contains all available servers from selected network. Select your favorite server and click Connect to connect or OK to save this settings. You can add your favorite servers with Add and Edit options. You can set also the port:

• 1. 6667 - connection on 6667 port
• 2. 6667-6669 - first, connect on 6667 port and if it failed try 6667,6668, 6669 ports
• 3. 6667-6669,7001 - same as 2 but in addition 7001 port is checked.

GROUP option contains network name. Server would be found easy if you set a group.

GoHFGL & IRC General Settings

To play you need an unique nickname. Same nickname is used to connect to IRC server. If your nickname is not available, alternative nickname wil be used. Default, login and quit messages are displayed. To disable these messages uncheck options from right window side.
Check Connect at startup option to automatically connect to IRC server.
Default port options sets a default port for an IRC server without a port.

Sound Setting

IRC events and actions such as game start, new game can be customized with sounds using Enable sounds options.
